Trainees play an important role within BGC Housing Group Trades.

Trainees are involved in day to day operations and work closely with other members in their trades team. A traineeship allows you to study for a certificate qualification and on average, it take people 1 to 2 years to complete.

If you’re ready to see where a traineeship could take you, we’re ready to help you make it happen.

Be a part of WA’s booming construction and building industry.

Your responsibilities

AS A TRAINEE

As a trainee, it’s important to remember that you will play a very important role in day-to-day operations. As such, a few of your responsibilities will include:

  • Working to the best of your ability to complete any tasks assigned to you.
  • Understanding workplace policies and procedures to help you and others to keep safe and healthy on the job.
  • Being punctual and reliable at all times, including letting your employer know as early as possible if you can’t make it to work due to illness or a family emergency.
  • Participation in your ongoing training (such as a TAFE course), which is a requirement of completing your apprenticeship/traineeship.

Where will I study?

When you are employed and registered as an apprentice or trainee wit BGC Housing Group, you can then choose the TAFE or RTO you wish to attend.

Once you have chosen your preferred training centre, BGC will set up your registration for you in the appropriate course, and work with you to determine your training and work schedule.

Throughout your apprenticeship, your supervisor at BGC Housing Group will monitor your progress within your training plans and studies, and support you in helping you succeed in your chosen profession.
