Sun Safety Awareness Week

BGC Trade is committed to raising awareness of sun safety, to protect and support the health and wellbeing of its contractors.

With Australia having one of the highest rates of skin cancer in the world, it is crucial to raise awareness about the importance of sun safety.

Outdoor workers receive between 5 and 10 times more UV radiation exposure than indoor workers.

As part of Sun Safety Awareness Week, BGC Trade visited our loyal trades onsite with sunscreen, hats, shirts, insulated drink bottles and cold refreshments to spread awareness, and keep them hydrated and protected from harmful UV exposure.

Following SunSmart tips is a simple and effective way to protect your health and reduce your risk of developing skin cancer.

For the best protection, use all five SunSmart steps:

1. SLIP on covering clothing.
2. SLOP on SPF 30+ broad spectrum, water-resistant sunscreen.
3. SLAP on a hat.
4. SEEK shade.
5. SLIDE on some sunglasses.
