Sun Safety Awareness Week 2025
BGC Housing Group is dedicated to promoting sun safety to protect and enhance the health and wellbeing of its employees and our trade contractors. Given that Australia has one of the highest skin cancer rates globally, it is vital to emphasise the importance of sun safety.
Outdoor workers are exposed to 5 to 10 times more UV radiation than indoor workers. So, this week the BGC Trade team visited our loyal tradespeople onsite, providing sunscreen, hats, shirts, insulated drink bottles, and cold refreshments to spread awareness and keep them hydrated and protected from UV exposure.
We also shared this important message with our staff, sharing Sun Safety Packs filled with sunscreen, drink bottles, hats and sunglasses as well as tips and resources to help keep them safe from the sun’s damaging UV rays.
The five SunSmart tips are an easy and effective way to protect your health and lower your risk of developing skin cancer.
For the best protection, use all five SunSmart steps:
