National and GO Homes Win HIA Kitchen and Bathroom Awards
Ultimate luxury was on show at the 2019 HIA Western Australia Laminex Kitchen and Bathroom Awards in July, with BGC Residential brands bringing home a bounty of awards and recognition.
Before more than 200 HIA members at Crown Perth, the builders and designers of the state’s top bathrooms and kitchens were honored for their use of space, style, design and accessibility.
Three BGC Residential brands – National Homes, GO Homes and Commodore Homes – combined to bring home four awards and achieve finalist status in a further six categories. “We are extremely proud of the achivements of our brands in receiving these awards,” BGC Residential General Manager Sales and Marketing Jared Stone said. “These are things we hold up high, and we know it resonates with our customers.”
The homes recognised included National Homes displays The Desert Point and The Odyssey for their kitchen and bathroom respectively, while GO Homes’ ever-popular Bossanova display took home both the kitchen and bathroom award in its price category.Across all entries in the awards the judges noted a few trends, many of which Mr Stone said were reflected in BGC Residential’s award-winning builds.
Accessibility was one. “We saw universal access being more of a design feature in many of our bathrooms in 2019, rather than just for function,” HIA WA Executive Director Cath Hart said. There was also a focus on increasing natural light, earthy colours and feature tiles that brought visual interest, texture and pattern to kitchens and bathrooms.
The BGC Residential brands were at the forefront of these industry movements, showcasing innovative designs which Mr Stone said broke the mould for project builders. “Our designers, along with our interior design partners, are in tune with what products and materials the industry is favoring,” he said. “It takes a fair amount of forward-thinking and understanding to see what’s on-point and what’s hot. To be able to put that on the ground, from the design stage through to judging, takes time. “You need to have a good think about what is going to be still popular and current around the corner.
It takes skill to be able to get that right.”While many of the award winners on the night were custom builders, Mr Stone said affordability and quality were key themes with BGC Residential. “Delivering a great design that works well while still keeping it affordable is a big part of getting this right,” Mr Stone said. “Winning these awards is a real pat on the back for our designers and interior designers, who have been able to make the house look a million bucks while still keeping it very affordable. “At the end of the day, homeowners want to walk into their kitchens and their bathrooms and feel fantastic. “We’d encourage people to come visit our award-winning display homes to get a full appreciation of why we received these awards.
