Making a Difference in 2024

At BGC Housing Group, our mission extends beyond building homes; we are deeply committed to strengthening the communities around us. This year, our dedication to making a positive impact has been as strong as ever. Here’s a look back at the community initiatives that our team proudly supported in 2024:

 

Dress for Success

The mission of Dress for Success is to help unemployed and underemployed women achieve economic independence by providing no-fee programs, development tools and professional attire to thrive in work and in life. Earlier this year, our team had the opportunity to support this initiative by assisting onsite with sorting and organising clothing in readiness for one of their fundraising sales.

 

Foodbank Volunteering

Our team rolled up their sleeves to sort and package food for Foodbank, the largest hunger relief charity in Australia. This hands-on effort helped provide vital food supplies to families in need, ensuring they received the nourishment and support they deserve.

 

Salvos Donation Drive

Recognising the importance of dignity and self-care, we organised a donation drive for the Salvation Army, collecting essential personal hygiene items. These contributions directly supported individuals and families in our community facing tough times.

 

Walk for Women’s Cancer

Taking steps for a vital cause, staff members participated in the Walk for Women’s Cancer. Together, they walked to raise awareness and much-needed funds for cancer research, reaffirming our commitment to supporting women’s health initiatives.

 

Pink Morning Tea for Breast Cancer Awareness

In support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we hosted a Pink Morning Tea. This event brought our team together to raise funds, share knowledge, and emphasise the importance of early detection and prevention.

 

Sponsorship of the West Perth WAFLW Team

Recognising the importance of sports in fostering community spirit, BGC Housing Group is the proud major sponsor of the West Perth Women’s Football Club contributing to the growth and success of women in sports and their Indigenous program This sponsorship will continue until 2026, and we look forward to the season ahead.

 

Donation Drive for The Pantry

This year, we extended our community care to The Pantry, a local organisation providing food relief to those in need. Through a workplace food donation drive, we contributed to their efforts to fight hunger and provide support to vulnerable members of the community.

 

Christmas Gift Giving for Indigo Junction

Continuing our tradition of spreading holiday cheer, we partnered with Indigo Junction for a gift-giving initiative focused on giving back to children in need. Our team came together to fulfill wish lists, ensuring these young members of our community experienced the joy and magic of the festive season.
