Clever Use of Space: Maximising the Storage in Your Home

Looking to maximise the storage space in your new home? Efficient storage solutions can not only help you organise your possessions but also make your living space look tidy and clutter-free. From built in cabinets, multi-functional furniture and clever storage hacks, there are many innovative ways to utilise this space in your home without having to compromise on quality, design, or features. Read below to explore our top tips for cleverly using storage space in your home.

Optimise corner spaces

Those odd areas of the home such as the corner of the living room, underneath the staircase or nearby the entrance are often awkward spaces to fill. One of our favourite ways to cleverly use this living area space is by creating a breakfast nook with L-shaped seating. As well as creating additional seating space, you can add storage in the benches underneath. We also recommend creating built in storage beneath the stairs and in the bathroom and laundry where space is often smaller.

Mirrored cabinets

One of the easiest ways to add space in a smaller area like the bathroom is to incorporate built in mirrored cabinets. These are an aesthetic option, creating the illusion of more space and natural light, immediately making the room feel brighter and larger. Mirrored cabinets are also an easy install option. They typically require only a few screws and mounting hardware. This means they can be quickly added without major renovations.

Pegboards

Pegboards are a great adaptable storage solution for a home for several reasons. Firstly, they don’t take up much space and can be mounted to almost any part of your home whilst saving you plenty of floor space. Secondly, they are customisable. Pegboards come with a variety of hooks, shelves, and bins, which can be arranged to fit any storage need. Thirdly, with a pegboard, all your tools and items are easily visible and accessible. You can quickly find what you need without having to rummage through drawers or cabinets. Lastly, pegboards help keep items organised, perfect for keeping clutter controlled.

Built-in shelving

Built in shelving is a sought-after feature in home design. It’s a great way to make use of any large wall, floor to ceiling as well as help to keep items organised. This storage solution can be designed to fit any space, such as nooks or corners, which maximise the use of available space. This is particularly useful in small homes or apartments. In addition, built-in shelving is a great option in multifunctional spaces or entertainment areas, as it saves floor space.
